Obama picks Rick Warren for his inaugural invocation? Huh?

I was as frustrated as this article's author when I heard Rick Warren, conservative evangelical fundamentalist Christian megachurch pastor, anti-evolution and vacuous circular logic-espousing book author, had been picked to be part of the Obama inauguration. WTF, Obama? I know you're a Christian but this guy and his congregation are exactly the kind of homophobic, hypocritical and fascist people that McCain/Palin were chasing after and who fervently stoke fires of fear and imaginary persecution to achieve power so that they may legislate their morality upon everyone. I praise Obama's quest for inclusive politics but Warren and pals are enemies of change and proponents of exclusion. They and their neo-con counterparts in D.C. achieve only destruction, death and division while waving a false banner of universal love. FAIL. Dump Warren. Dump this inclusion of religion and prayer at this historic inauguration. Dump the evangelism-fueled hatred, bigotry and triumphalism Warren and his cohorts represent. Let's move forward for CHANGE.

What's the Matter With Rick Warren?

Now it has officially gone too far: Democrats, in their zeal to appear
friendly to evangelical voters, have chosen celebrity preacher and
best-selling author Rick Warren to deliver the invocation at Barack
Obama's inauguration.

Warren represents the absolute worst of the Democrats' religious
outreach, a right-winger masquerading as a do-gooder anointed as the
arbiter of what it means to be faithful.

Sherlock Tomes (testing blogger.com)

Oops, I did it again. I got me some more of them books I won't get around to reading very soon, if at all. I have many, many bonus points accumulated at Quality Paperback Book Club from books I bought previously and haven't gotten around to reading fully. Cashing in the points makes each title cost about $5.95. Of course the books must be under $50 in order to use the bonus points. That eliminates a few cool sets of course. But anyhoo, here's what arrived today in the postal service mail delivery route office box thing:

Practicing: A Musician's Return To Music by Glenn Kurtz
Musicophilia: Tales of Music and the Brain by Oliver Sacks
The Big Book Of Porn: A Penetrating Look at the World of Dirty Movies by Seth Grahame-Smith
The DC Comics Encyclopedia
The Dead Beat: Lost Souls, Lucky Stiffs and the Perverse Pleasure of Obituaries (P.S.) by Marilyn Johnson
1000 Recordings You Must Hear Before You Die by Tom Moon
Charles Darwin On The Origin Of The Species: The Illustrated Edition by Charles Darwin and David Quammen
The Richness Of Life: The Essential Stephen Jay Gould
Classic Feynman: All The Adventures Of A Curious Character (book & live CD)
Bonk:  The Curious Coupling of Science and Sex by Mary Roach

So, it appears I have sex, death, music and science on the brain, or at least, on my shelves. Just another day at Fort Kevbo.
